The Kaizen method is a philosophy and approach to continuous improvement that originated in Japan in the 1950s. The term “kaizen” means “improvement” or “change for the better” in Japanese. The approach is based on the idea that all employees, regardless of their role or level in an organization, can contribute to making small improvements on a daily basis. These small improvements, when aggregated over time, can lead to significant improvements in productivity, quality, and overall organizational performance. The Kaizen approach is often used in manufacturing, but it can also be applied to other industries and settings, such as healthcare, education, and government.
